The Santa Fe Public Works and Utilities Committee met Feb. 2, 2026, approved its agenda and consent agenda and recognized a wastewater employee for service to the community.
Marcos Armijo, of the Wastewater Management Division, was named the Public Utilities Department employee of the month. An unidentified department presenter told the committee Armijo has worked in wastewater management for about seven years and "keeps the collection system flowing," noting his role responding to sewer overflows and leading an operations crew.
Committee members offered thanks and congratulations. The committee chair said, "We know that Santa Fe is nothing without you," and encouraged Armijo to accept the committee's thanks in person.
A department official announced Armijo would receive one day of administrative leave in recognition of the award and noted the leave was "for November 2025" in the announcement; the transcript contains a variant spelling of the employee's name in one line ('Marcus'), which the committee presentation otherwise records as Marcos Armijo.
There were no public comments. The committee approved the meeting agenda by voice vote and approved the consent agenda by roll call. The meeting record shows affirmative roll-call confirmations for Councilors Chavez, Barrett, Bustamante and Feghali; the chair announced the consent motion passed.
Committee business otherwise included no staff matters. The chair urged members to propose presentations that would inform policy decisions and confirmed the committee's next meeting is scheduled for Monday, Feb. 16, 2026, at 5:00 p.m.
No ordinances, resolutions or formal policy votes were taken during the meeting.
