The Medford School Committee voted to approve the educational plan guiding the Medford High School MSBA (Massachusetts School Building Authority) project, adopting an amendment to allow the superintendent to make non‑substantive changes in advance of the final deliverable.
Dr. Suzanne Galusi and Dr. Kimberly Talbot had presented the educational plan as the district’s “North Star” for the high‑school project and said there were no substantive updates since the prior presentation. Member Graham proposed an amendment to give the superintendent authority to make non‑substantive edits needed to “tie everything together” before submission; Member Rheinfeld then moved approval as amended, and Member Graham seconded.
The motion passed on a roll‑call vote, 7 in the affirmative and 0 in the negative. Committee members acknowledged consultants from Left/Lehi Field and SMMA who participated in the process and thanked staff for their work on the plan.
The committee did not record additional substantive edits during the meeting; the amendment permits final formatting and minor clarifications by the superintendent prior to submission to MSBA.
