Lancaster County proclaims Feb. 12 as 4‑H Achievement Day

The proclamation, read into the public record, notes that 4‑H is a large national youth development organization and described local participation and extension support. County and 4‑H representatives said Lancaster County 4‑H engages thousands of youth through clubs, school enrichment and after‑school programs and is supported by more than 2,000 volunteers. Tracy Anderson, who identified herself as the Lancaster County 4‑H extension educator, thanked commissioners for their support and described hands‑on programs spanning agriculture, STEM, food and nutrition.
Commissioners moved and seconded approval of the proclamation; a roll call vote recorded the motion carried. The county encouraged residents to learn more about 4‑H activities and attend the Feb. 12 celebration.
