To close part of that gap the board moved to reappropriate $7,500 from within the current budget.
The motion to reappropriate $7,500 was discussed and amended to be conditional on funds being available; it was seconded and passed by roll call 4–2. Board debate included concerns about additional taxpayer spending and whether further funds would be requested from supervisors. One board member noted large prior investments in the project and urged perspective on the incremental local contribution; another member said they could not support further reallocations of taxpayer money.
The board recorded the vote and instructed staff to track any further requests and remaining shortfalls. This reappropriation covers a portion of small remaining items; administration said larger funding and procurement decisions for the new school have been and will continue to be coordinated with county supervisors.
