Palm Beach County Commission on Ethics announces Ethics Awareness Month outreach; Chair Bridal to be honored

The Palm Beach County Commission on Ethics used its Feb. 5, 2026 meeting to preview Ethics Awareness Month activities and to acknowledge Chair Michael Bridal’s service to the panel.
The executive director reported that General Counsel Rhonda Geiger attended a government-ethics seminar that reviewed the history and challenges of ethics oversight. Staff provided a brief ethics training to the Board of County Commissioners focused on gift-law rules and how to determine whether someone is a vendor or a lobbyist, the director said. Staff also participated in an outreach event at Florida Atlantic University.
Commissioner Bobby Powell will present a proclamation declaring March Ethics Awareness Month at the BCC meeting on Tuesday, March 3; the executive director said she will send reminders to commissioners and invited their participation in outreach events the commission plans to hold in conjunction with the Office of Inspector General throughout March.
The executive director also acknowledged that the Feb. 5 meeting was Chair Michael Bridal’s last meeting as a commission member and said the commission will present him with a recognition and a going-away gift at the April meeting.
No formal votes were required for the outreach calendar or the recognition plans; the announcements were recorded in the meeting minutes and read publicly by staff.
