The Board of Library Trustees voted on several procedural items at its Jan. 26 special meeting, approving minutes from the Dec. 8, 2025 meeting, accepting two donations, and voting to postpone the election for vice chair until the board's next meeting.
Clerk presented the Dec. 8 minutes and a motion to approve was made and seconded. The roll call recorded the present trustees voting to approve. The clerk also announced donations of $200 from an anonymous donor and $1,000 associated with Rebecca Galeoto; staff noted a card from Rebecca Gallardo asking that funds be used for youth and teen programs. The board moved to accept the donations and approved them by roll call.
Board members then discussed leadership timing after noting that the usual next-in-line vice chair was not present. The board moved to postpone the vice-chair election to the Feb. 23 meeting. A roll-call vote to postpone the election carried.
Votes recorded in the meeting transcript list the present trustees at roll call as Chair Kristin Higashi, Vice Chair Kadeep Avasta, Board member Eric Naylor and Board member Sharon Hsu. Barbara Wiese Sinner was recorded as not in attendance at the start of the meeting. The transcript does not specify abstentions or no votes on these items.
