The Triton Regional School Committee approved the 2026–2029 school improvement plans as presented by principals in January, after a committee debate over whether to send the policy back to the policy subcommittee for further review.
Chair Linda Locoski reminded the committee that district policy requires the committee to approve improvement plans, and solicited member views. Some members said returning plans to the policy subcommittee could be interpreted as punitive and risk lowering staff morale; others argued a review could align the plans more closely with district goals and practices used by comparable districts. Committee Member 3 moved to approve the plans as presented; Committee Member 5 seconded the motion and the committee voted to carry the motion. The transcript does not include a roll-call tally in the record for that vote.
The committee will file the approved plans per district policy and notify school councils that the plans were accepted. No substantive amendments to the plans were recorded during the meeting.
