Superintendent Todd Walker highlighted Rosewood Elementary’s centennial, district recognitions and magnet program successes, and said the district will release a Vision 2030 draft with a 28-page document, executive summary, videos, and QR codes ahead of a Feb. 26 state-of-the-district presentation.
Superintendent Todd Walker used the Jan. 27 meeting to highlight district accomplishments and preview a draft of Richland 1’s Vision 2030.
A student ambassador video and a presentation by Jenny Sanchez Martinez recapped events including Rosewood Elementary’s 100th birthday and honorary street naming, district spelling-bee competitions, magnet program features, and AP School Honor Roll recognitions. Walker thanked school and city partners and congratulated schools recognized by national groups.
Walker said the district will release a draft Vision 2030 landing page the following day with a 28-page vision document, executive summary, videos, infographics, and a slide deck, plus QR codes to collect feedback from students, staff, parents and community members. The final Vision 2030 will be unveiled at the superintendent’s State of the District address on Feb. 26 at 6 p.m. at AC Flora High School.
Walker also read a set of expected behaviors (18 items) from the draft to describe district expectations for staff and leaders. He said the district will provide opportunities for stakeholders to review the draft and provide feedback before the Feb. 26 presentation.
What’s next: the draft Vision 2030 materials will be posted on the district’s website and promoted through district channels; the final vision will be presented Feb. 26.
