EDC accepts vice‑president’s resignation, approves downtown beautification purchases and authorizes executive‑session follow‑through

The Rio Grande City Economic Development Corporation formally accepted the resignation of Vice President David Reyna and recorded that acceptance as producing a vacancy to be filled under established appointment procedures.

On a separate vote the board approved the purchase of flower pots and metal sculptures for downtown beautification and streetscape enhancements, a project recommended by the Main Street Advisory Board, with a not‑to‑exceed figure presented as 5,735. Discussion at the meeting covered proposed placement along Main Street and 2nd Street, volunteer involvement including students for installation and maintenance, and the need to map exact locations before installation.

Earlier in the meeting the board approved routine procedural actions: approval of the previous meeting minutes and the delegation of authority motions following executive session.
