Summary
Dr. McFarland said the district piloted Eureka and the I’m program; staff recommend adopting the I’m program for K–5 beginning 2026–27 and reported negotiated costs are below the expected budget line; samples are available in the district office.
District administrator Dr. McFarland told the board that a district-administrator-and-teacher team piloted two K–5 math resources — Eureka and the I’m program through Imagine Learning — across selected classrooms and grade levels during the current school year.
"After a semester of implementation... the results of our discussion and evaluation overwhelmingly brought us to the conclusion of recommending that we move forward with purchasing and utilizing the I’m program as our K to 5 math resource beginning with the 26–27 school year," Dr. McFarland said. He added that, after negotiations, the district is "below the expected budgetary line item to purchase this program for the next 5 years." Samples of the program are available in the district office for board members and staff to review prior to a future vote.
The recommendation will return as a purchasing item so the board can act on final contract and budget details; tonight it was presented as an information/update item with invitation for further review and questions.
