The RSU 40/MSAD 40 board recognized Kaylee Martin, a special-education teacher at the district high school, as the 2025 Maine State Grange Educator of the Year.
Sharon Wharton, Maine State Grange secretary and Willow Grange #366 president, presented the award and praised Martin for establishing and leading the Madonna Valley Soul Food Pantry, advising student council and supporting staff and students through outreach and programs. "She is a well loved educator who cares about her students with the biggest of hearts," Wharton said.
Board members and attendees applauded Martin's community work. The recognition was presented publicly as part of the board's regular meeting presentations.
