MANHATTAN, Kan.
The Manhattan-Ogden USD 383 board gave final approval Monday to a facilities contract for Lee Elementary that will replace playground equipment and synthetic turf. The board approved the proposal submitted by Aspire to Play LLC of Oak Grove, Missouri, in the amount of $374,962 (motion by Greg, seconded by Kurt); the motion passed 6-0.
Board discussion noted that a $25,605 donation from the Frank Bergman PTO will fund shade at the site and that those funds were raised by families rather than coming from district operating dollars. Trustees said the project was reviewed by the facilities and growth committee before coming to the board. The contract award authorizes staff to finalize procurement and proceed with installation and scheduling.
Next steps: Facilities staff will coordinate timing with school administration and return updates on installation and warranty timelines; no other board action was required at this meeting.
