Board approves minutes, superintendent recommendations and band uniform purchase; executive session announced

The Ross Local Schools board approved three formal motions during the meeting and then moved into an executive session for personnel evaluation.

Minutes: A board member moved to approve the minutes and the motion was seconded; the board recorded unanimous 'Yes' votes and approved the minutes.

Superintendent recommendations: Doctor Rice presented personnel items (resignations, retirements, supplemental pay and stipends, including residential educator stipend and spring sports stipends), and an overnight band trip to New York City intended to support band fundraising. A motion to approve the superintendent's recommendations was made and seconded and carried on a roll‑call vote with all members voting "Yes." The board recorded the motion's passage and accepted items a through d as presented (including the overnight field trip).

Treasurer recommendations and band uniforms: The treasurer presented donations, an investment report and a cash summary and recommended approval of a band uniform purchase. Board discussion clarified that the uniform purchase will be split: one‑third paid by the district, one‑third by band boosters and one‑third by the band's own fundraising; the board approved the treasurer's recommendations by roll call. Board members asked about typical replacement cycles (about 10–12 years).

Executive session and adjournment: The chair declared a recess to move into executive session to prepare for superintendent and treasurer performance evaluations and bargaining sessions about compensation and terms of employment, and said the meeting would adjourn at the end of the executive session with no further public action.
