Facilities staff reported an update on custodial costs tied to temporary help: roughly $8,200 per month in labor for two employees working 40 hours a week, with an estimated first-quarter labor cost of about $25,000. Staff said material and supply invoices were still pending and that final costs will be refined in coming weeks. The presenter said the county’s in-house approach could save roughly $130,000 over a year compared with the prior contract, contingent on full-year implementation.
On building projects, staff said demolition and renovation continue in the prosecuting attorney's (PA) office and second-floor hallways. The facilities team expects to complete the last zone of work in March and projected target dates in April–May for remaining moves; project cost savings are possible and will be reported when confirmed.
Staff also reported they are compiling a comprehensive county-facilities inventory (square footage, departments, locations) and plan to return with that list when all commissioners are present.
