Auburn parks official names Melissa Shaver February employee of the month

Hall said Shaver helped the facility win national recognition as one of 45 facilities to receive the United States Tennis Association’s Outstanding Facility Award and received the Alabama Recreation and Parks Association District 5 2025 Outstanding New Professional award. Hall credited Shaver with securing more than $75,000 in grant funding to replace indoor lighting with energy-efficient LED fixtures, which Hall said improved playing conditions and sustainability.
Hall described Shaver’s leadership as strengthening the Yarbrough Tennis Center’s role in regional recreational and competitive tennis and praised her relationships with staff, community partners and players. The department concluded the recognition with congratulations and appreciation for Shaver’s contributions.
