BZA continues several petitions to March and handles routine administrative business

At the start of the February meeting, the Monroe County Board of Zoning Appeals accepted the planning and legal materials into the record, approved the agenda and elected Jeff Morris as chair and Skip Daley as vice chair. The chair noted the presence of a quorum.
Multiple matters were continued at the petitioners’ request or for procedural legality: VAR‑25‑72 (a–f) and VAR‑25‑49 were continued at the petitioner’s request to allow additional submittal and staff review; VAR‑25‑83 (Snedeker flood‑damage prevention compensatory-storage variance) was continued because required neighbor notices were not delivered in time. Each continuance was granted and rescheduled for the March 4, 2026 BZA meeting by unanimous vote.
Staff reminded petitioners and the public about procedural requirements and sign‑in/affidavit procedures for testimony. The clerk also warned participants about a scam email circulating that attempted to solicit wire transfers under a spoofed staff name; the board cautioned that such requests are not legitimate.
