Monroe County commissioners approve $2.4 million in dockets, several contracts and a small court grant

The Monroe County Board of Commissioners on Feb. 5 approved the claims and payroll dockets, several contract renewals and a three‑year court grant, and appointed a member to the county’s Property Tax Board of Appeals.
The board voted to approve the accounts payable claims docket for Feb. 5, 2026, and payroll for Feb. 6, 2026. County finance staff reported the accounts payable total as $1,344,231.96, payroll as $1,690,402.48, and additional indirect costs of $716,740.30, producing a combined total of $2,407,142.78; the motion passed with the vote recorded by the chair.
Commissioners approved a $12,453 grant from the Indiana Office of Court Services (Fund 9136) to cover a three‑year maintenance agreement for digital signage in the Justice Building. “The display allows for our hearing times and courtroom assignments to be displayed for our parties,” said Chandler, deputy court administrator, who described the software license and support services covered by the grant.
The board also approved a $10,000 renewal of an enterprise service plan with Cultivate Geospatial Solutions LLC from the cumulative capital fund to continue GIS database integration and software updates. A county representative said the vendor has helped convert and integrate departmental databases into the county’s GIS environment.
Separately, commissioners approved contracting Financial Solutions Group to prepare annual TIF (tax‑increment financing) reports and continuing disclosures for four TIF districts in an amount not to exceed $22,000. Mr. Cockrell explained that four of the contracts are annual reports submitted to the redevelopment commission and state gateway, and a fifth covers continuing disclosure obligations tied to privately sold bonds in the Westside Economic Development Area.
The board approved an on‑call engineering services agreement with Buzzo Reiter Cooper James (motor vehicle highway fund) not to exceed $10,000 through June 30, 2027, to provide engineering assistance for unforeseen needs.
Commissioners appointed Kurt Zorn to the Property Tax Board of Appeals with a term running through Dec. 31, 2027. The chair noted brief confusion about whether the action was a reappointment before confirming the motion.
All votes taken during the morning consent and contract items were recorded by the chair and were carried as indicated during the meeting.
