The Rice Lake Area School District opened its June 23 meeting by presenting Chromebooks to student winners and recognizing 18 high-school students for outstanding fourth-term achievement across departments.
Assistant principal Mark Beissie introduced the students and named recipients in art, health education, business education, family and consumer science, language arts, mathematics, music, science, social studies, world languages, agriculture and technology education. Board members and audience members offered congratulations.
District administrators also provided community updates: Rice Lake High School students were reported to be on a trip to Guatemala with near-daily Facebook updates; Summer Academy sessions were underway and the pool manager, Courtney Foss, reported the public pool was "packed over the weekend." The board reminded staff and parents that the 2025-26 school calendar is available online and that a back-to-school staff in-service is scheduled for Monday, Aug. 18 with a 7:30 a.m. breakfast and an 8 a.m. program.
These items were informational; no controversial issues were raised during the recognitions and updates.
