The La Porte County Alcoholic Beverage Commission on Feb. 5 approved routine automatic renewals and accepted minutes from its January meeting.
At the start of board 2’s session, Chair Lisa Daniel King listed five automatic renewals: VFW No. 1130; Walgreens No. 5141 (West State Road 2); Walgreens No. 09318 (East Lincoln Way); Star Liquor (Pine Lake Avenue); and the Hampton Inn (High Point Drive). Michelle Traver of the State Excise Police told the commission there were no violations on those licenses, and commissioners moved, seconded and voted to approve the renewals.
Commissioners also moved to approve the January minutes for board 2; the motion carried unanimously. Board 2 adjourned at 10:02 a.m.
The approvals were procedural and involved routine verification of standing and compliance records. No remonstrators or public opposition to the listed renewals were recorded during the board 2 portion of the meeting. The commission reconvened as board 1 later the same day to consider additional renewals and other items.
