Speaker 1 moved to provide refreshments and modest coffee/snack service; after discussion the motion was amended to authorize up to $150 for refreshments. The chair confirmed the amended motion and recorded the vote: the motion passed unanimously with no nays reported. "Motion passed," the chair said after the vote.
Committee members tasked staff with promotion and logistics and discussed whether to schedule the talk for 11 a.m., 11:30 a.m. or noon to avoid conflicting with seniors' meal routines; staff will confirm the final start time and promotional wording. The committee did not authorize any other expenditures or contracts at the meeting.
