Senior planner Audrey Duchene told the council the petitions are for satellite annexations of parcels currently in Johnston County that together total about 466 acres; staff recommended an effective annexation date of Feb. 16, 2026 so the town and applicants would have 60 days to complete required rezoning after annexation. "These annexations align with the adopted Gateway 42 small area plan," Duchene said.
