The Santa Fe Planning Commission on Feb. 5 approved case 202511386, a development plan to replace the aging Axton (Accent) Apartments with an 83-unit, three-story multifamily complex intended primarily to house Santa Fe Opera apprentices.
Senior planner Nathan Lindquist told the commission the project meets R29 zoning standards for height (36 feet), lot coverage and required open space. "The applicant is requesting approval of a development plan to construct 83 multifamily units in 2 buildings," Lindquist said, adding the development would provide about 24% open space and 106 on-site parking spaces.
