Planning staff said the maximum available to apply for is $7 million and estimated the three communities’ combined projects would likely total around $5 million; they stated the department is seeking to layer other grant funds to reduce the local match and would not proceed without concurrence from county highway leadership.
Legislator John (Planning staff reference) and others emphasized that the TAP funds could enable the county to complete several infrastructure projects simultaneously and save an estimated $5 million in CHIPS-equivalent costs. The resolution was moved and carried.
