Planning Commission recommends FY2026–30 five-year capital improvements plan to City Council

Steve Akins of the Budget Office reviewed the plan and reminded commissioners of prior study sessions and the packet materials. "You received your books on the 5 year proposed 5 year capital plan, and we're here today to seek your recommendation and approval to move it forward to council," Akins said.
Commissioners thanked staff for the prior briefing and had no substantive questions; Commissioner Noble moved to recommend approval of the resolution to advance the CIP to City Council for action. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Meek and passed by the commission.
The recommendation does not appropriate funds; it forwards the plan as a package for council consideration, where budget adoption and appropriation decisions will be made in the council process.
