Oklahoma City deferred-compensation trustees honor two retiring members

The Oklahoma City Deferred Compensation Board on Nov. 19, 2025 adopted resolutions honoring two trustees who are leaving the board.
The board recognized Doug Dower for 28 years of service to the city and noted that he will retire as assistant finance director on Dec. 4, 2025. The clerk read a resolution detailing Dower’s contributions to trustee work since September 2023, including adoption of an investment policy statement and leading a record‑keeper search. Dower told the board, “It’s been an honor to serve on this board,” and trustees offered personal thanks before the motion to adopt the resolution passed.
Trustees then approved a second resolution recognizing Scott Pope, who has served as a trustee since January 2024 and was elected vice chair in March 2025. The resolution credited Pope with leading communication and education efforts around the record‑keeper change and with promoting participant wellness. Pope said he appreciated the opportunity and said the role helped him “increase my skill set” and connect with employees. The board moved and passed the resolution.
Both resolutions were ceremonial recognitions; no substantive policy action resulted from those votes. The board proceeded with its agenda after adopting the resolutions.
