During committee reports at the end of the Nov. 3 study session, Councilor Isabel Cruz told the council she had reviewed the budget documents and said circulating claims that the city plans to demolish recreation centers or consolidate them into a single rec center are false and not reflected in department plans or the adopted budget.
"That information... is completely false and is not aligned with any of the plans of city departments and is not in our budget," Councilor Cruz said. She also noted the Budget Audit Board’s Nov. 12 meeting was canceled and that the board will resume early next year.
Councilor Nystrom reported that the ad hoc sustainability committee completed an organizational meeting and will meet next on Nov. 21 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. No votes or policy actions were taken during the committee reports segment; the council adjourned at 8:25 p.m.
