The Warrick County Board of Zoning Appeals opened its January meeting by electing leadership for 2026 and setting its calendar for the year. Members nominated Terry Devolt for chair; nominations were closed and the selection was accepted by acclamation. The board then nominated Jeff Willis as vice chairman and approved that selection by voice vote.
The board approved its regular meeting schedule: meetings will be held on the fourth Monday of each month at 6 p.m. in the Commissioners Meeting Room on the courthouse third floor in Boonville, Indiana; the board noted the May meeting will be moved to a Tuesday because of a holiday. The board also adopted the rules and regulations for the coming year with no changes.
On a separate motion, the board approved a two-year contract to appoint Maureen Dahl, of Seaver's Attorneys at Law LLC, as counsel to the board. The appointment followed a prior favorable vote by the area planning commission and passed after a motion and second on the floor.
Board members then approved the minutes from the December meeting as circulated.
The procedural actions wrap up the board’s organizational duties for 2026 and set the administrative framework for upcoming permits and variance hearings.
