Mesquite ISD board approves contractors for school renovation packages and hires special-education coordinator

On personnel, the board approved the administrative-term contract for Andretti Camper to serve as coordinator of special education after the superintendent introduced Camper's background (six years of special-education leadership in Dallas ISD and prior classroom experience).

Trustees asked questions about vendor experience (several trustees said the district had not previously worked with Crossland or Buford Thompson) and were told the administration had vetted each firm and would return to the board for guaranteed maximum price (GMP) approvals at later meetings.
