Bluff to present CCC/BCC plans to public; council seeks lease language to preserve senior center options

Senior center lease: Staff reported the lease with San Juan County for the senior center space expires Aug. 31, 2025, with current rent described around $450/month and annual payment roughly $5,400 after utilities and reimbursements. Council discussed adding lease language recognizing that services could shift to the CCC in future years and asked staff to consult with county contact Tammy Gallegos and county administration about inserting flexible language while protecting seniors’ access and county-maintained utilities and repairs.
Next steps: Malia will prepare a council presentation and a public session with a short survey; staff will contact county representatives about revising the lease template to include an acknowledgement of potential service shifts and return with options for council review.
