After a public hearing with no speakers on the certification of taxes, the Polk County Board of Supervisors moved and approved the fiscal year 2025–26 budget and certification of taxes.
County staff told supervisors the version before the board follows recommendations provided during the public process and that no changes were made since the public meeting. During discussion supervisors confirmed previously published items remained in the document, including certain departmental funding requests and a sheriff’s vehicle purchase referenced in public remarks.
The board approved the resolution adopting the budget on a roll-call vote. County staff and budget office representatives said technical corrections to service-area line items were later addressed through a separate budget-action item.
The board subsequently approved a technical budget correction moving a $16,000,000 mental-health services appropriation from Service Area 4 to Service Area 9 to reflect changes in how mental-health services will be delivered in FY26; staff described this as a restoration to the previously published allocation.
