The Union County Board of County Commissioners introduced Ordinance No. 861-2025, which the clerk said would amend the county administrative code (chapter 115, safety code: general provisions and article 4 relating to bicycles, scooters, recreational vehicles and snowmobiles).
Vice Chairman Joseph Bodek moved to introduce the ordinance for first reading and authorized the clerk to advertise the item; Commissioner Kowalski seconded the motion. The clerk set the public hearing and final reading for December 18, 2025 after an initial date was corrected during discussion.
The ordinance was read by title by the clerk; the motion to introduce passed unanimously on roll call. The board instructed the clerk’s office to publish the legally required advertisement and to prepare materials for the public hearing.
The ordinance text was read aloud; the meeting record identifies the item as Ordinance No. 861-2025. The board did not take final action at this meeting; the item will return for public hearing and final vote on Dec. 18, 2025.
