Commissioners used the comments portion of the meeting to publicize a range of upcoming county programs and to recognize personnel changes. Commissioner Palmeri Mudette invited families to a Feb. 14 winter event at the Trailside Nature and Science Center in Mountainside; online registration is available at ucnj.org/trailside. Commissioner Signorella invited volunteers to the Adopt-a-Trail stewards orientation on Feb. 28 (9 a.m.–noon) at Trailside (registration: ucnj.org/trailstewardsorientation).

Commissioner Neron described ASK (Aging Services Kiosk) events for seniors and caregivers, listing Feb. 4 at Hillside Public Library, Feb. 10 bilingual services at Fanwood Memorial Library, and Feb. 17 bilingual services at Westfield Memorial Library, with more information at ucnj.org/dhs/aging.
Vice Chair Williams announced a Black History Month flag raising at the county courthouse on Feb. 2 at 1 p.m. and noted an accompanying exhibit in the commissioners’ gallery through Feb. 28. Commissioners also congratulated colleagues on regional appointments and recognized staff promotions; the chair closed the meeting with thanks to county staff and an adjournment.
