Union County commissioners introduced Ordinance No. 8-64-2026 on first reading, a proposal to amend the county Administrative Code relating to parks and recreation fees. The clerk read the ordinance by title as "an ordinance to amend the laws of Union County Administrative Code and Policies and General Legislation by amending part 2, General Legislation, Chapter 107, Parks and Recreation, article 4, fees for recreational facilities."
Vice Chair Williams formally moved the ordinance for first reading; Commissioner Mirabella seconded the motion. The clerk called the roll and the board recorded nine votes in the affirmative to introduce the ordinance. The county clerk was authorized to advertise the ordinance in accordance with law, and a public hearing with final reading was scheduled for Feb. 26, 2026.
The ordinance was introduced as a first step; no public hearing or amendment took place at this meeting. Commissioners did not debate fees or specifics during the introduction. Future meetings, including the Feb. 26 hearing, will be the opportunity for public comment and for commissioners to consider any amendments or final adoption.
