Historic Preservation Commission reviews plaque language and pavilion working-group involvement

At the Feb. 4 meeting, staff updated the Hinsdale Historic Preservation Commission on revisions to the plaque language that will accompany a second installed plaque. Staff thanked members of the carillon committee and Commissioner Harlow for help refining the text and said an updated proof arrived the same day; the order will be placed and the commission will be notified about celebration timing once shipping and installation are scheduled.
A commissioner asked whether the Historic Preservation Commission would have a role in reviewing designs for a planned pavilion near the commission’s historic site. Staff said a working group met and that commission member Richard Olsen attended to review design options; an updated rendering that merges elements of different proposals has been provided and will be shared with the commission. Staff said the pavilion design will move through the appropriate approval process and that they will report next steps when known.
