Marco Carlton, a member of the Carlton family, told the commission the family wants the memorial funds used to benefit the community. "We just wanted to encourage the town to spend some of these funds to try and bring the pavilion up to working order," he said, citing needed power washing and repairs to bathrooms and the kitchen so the pavilion can better serve sports and community events.
