The Brookings Planning Commission voted Feb. 3 to approve its 2025 annual report and to adopt the minutes from the Dec. 2, 2025 meeting.
Planning staff told commissioners the commission met seven times in 2025 and listed members and staff liaisons. The report, as read into the record, said the commission is chaired by Skip Watwood with Gerald Wolfowitz serving as vice chair and named members Sage Bruce, Anthony Vaughn, Nicholas Chapman and Amanda Whittemore. The report also summarized permits and land‑use actions in 2025, including conditional‑use permits, minor partitions and a planned unit development called Bedrock Estates.
Chair Skip Watwood said the commission looks forward to serving Brookings residents with “a fair and unbiased decision‑making process” and to advising the City Council on matters affecting residents. A commissioner moved to approve the year‑end review; the motion carried unanimously.
Commissioners then considered the draft minutes from Dec. 2, 2025, raised no edits and voted to adopt them. No public comment was offered on either item.
The approval completes the commission’s routine organizational business and preserves the staff record used for future council briefings and appeals.
