Board approves change orders and awards Cameron Park contract to Downey Contracting LLC

On a separate, larger item the board considered a resolution to extend time to award and to ratify addenda for the CB Cameron Park improvements at 11711 N. Portland Ave. Staff recommended awarding base bid plus alternatives 1–7, accepting unit prices, and awarding the construction contract to Downey Contracting LLC for $23,969,103. Staff corrected a figure in the draft request: the proposal uses $4,138,000 of unencumbered MAPS funds (not $6,138,003 as printed) to advance the contract; those funds would be reimbursed when the 2025 general-obligation bonds are sold. The board approved the award and authorized contract and bond approvals and the fund advance.
