"I, unfortunately, moved out of my ward. So as of tonight, I will be resigning from my position as city councilor for Ward 5," Mueller Wendt said, and thanked colleagues and staff for the opportunity to serve.
Fellow councilors offered praise. One colleague said the council would miss her public-health perspective and noted her work on food security and water issues. Councilors also thanked her for her passion and dedication during three years on the board.
The council did not take action to fill the vacancy at the meeting.
