Klamath Falls council approves two precast restrooms for Veterans and Moore parks

The Klamath Falls City Council voted Feb. 2 to authorize purchases of two precast restroom buildings from Mountain West Precast LLC for Veterans Park and Moore Park, each in a not-to-exceed amount of $139,433.
Parks maintenance manager Terry Sellers told the council the Veterans Park unit will replace an existing restroom that no longer meets ADA standards and will be heated so it can remain in service year-round. Sellers said the unit will be placed near the curb line and garden area to improve visibility for patrols and to reduce hidden activity.
He said the Moore Park unit will be closer to a playground area and will similarly be heated and accessible, which staff expect will relieve pressure on other park facilities. Councilors asked about locking hours; Sellers said the restrooms will be locked after dark and that existing portable toilets will remain for additional use during events.
Both purchases were moved, seconded and approved on voice vote.
