At its meeting the Planning Commission approved or recommended approval for a series of routine plats, licenses, conditional-use changes and variances, forwarding several items to the Columbia County Board of Commissioners for final action where applicable.
Key actions taken: - Final plat approved for 4 Oaks Phase 3 (21 single-family lots; sidewalks required on both sides of the road). (Motion and approval recorded SEG 051–057.) - Revised preliminary plat for Marshall Mills (subdivision revised from 11 large lots to 28 single-family lots; some lots require Planning Commission approval for lot depth) recommended for approval. (SEG 060–097) - Massage operator license for Ariel Hall at 7013 Evans Town Center Boulevard approved. (SEG 098–109) - Temporary use authorization at 313 Arakdell Road (camper while home repairs are made following hurricane damage) approved with the standard 12-month time limit. (SEG 111–149) - Major PUD revision for 205 New Petersburg Drive (to allow massage services in an existing multi-tenant building) recommended for approval. (SEG 931–991) - Sign variance at 3508 Washington Road for a car dealership’s miscellaneous wall signage (requested total ~134 sq ft where building allowance would be 55 sq ft) recommended for approval consistent with other dealership master sign plans. (SEG 993–1074) - Setback variances at 5438 Tubman Road (rear setback reduced to 5 feet for an addition; adjacent owner submitted letter of support) and 4605 Holly Hill Road (front setback aligned with as-built condition) were recommended for approval with conditions. (SEG 1078–1232)
Most of these items were presented by staff, elicited little or no opposition in the public hearing, and were approved by voice vote. Where conditions were recommended (for example, demarcation of property lines or compliance timelines), staff will verify compliance as part of final processing.
