Thurston County schedules hearings on county-code changes and Sexton Drive closure; home energy score hearing set Feb. 17

At the close of its Feb. 3 business meeting, the Thurston County Board of Commissioners adjourned until 3:30 p.m. to hold two public hearings: one to consider amendments to Thurston County Code chapter 2.104 (comprehensive property management procedures) and a second on a temporary partial closure of Sexton Drive Northwest.
"We will conduct our 2 public hearings...1 to consider amending Thurston County Code chapter 2.104, the comprehensive property management procedures and another following that, for the temporary partial road closure of Sexton Drive Northwest," the Chair said as the business meeting recessed.
Separately, Commissioner Klaus reminded the public that a public hearing on a proposed home energy score ordinance is scheduled for Feb. 17 and encouraged written comments on the county website. "It's a tool that helps homebuyers understand the full cost of homeownership including energy costs," Klaus said, and invited community input both in person and in writing.
Members of the public who wish to comment were directed to the county website for submission instructions; the board did not take final votes on the code amendment or the Sexton Drive closure during the business session and will consider public testimony during the scheduled hearings.
