Catoosa County Board honors Golden Apple winners and proclaims February CTAE month

The Catoosa County Board of Education recognized two teachers from Ringgold Middle School and marked Career, Technical and Agricultural Education (CTAE) successes at its meeting.
Principal Shelly Pritchard introduced Ramona DeLay and Richelle Lee, both highlighted for their classroom work and student support. Pritchard said of DeLay, "these children are her children this year... they're her children 30 years from now," citing a student nomination that said DeLay "changed my life." Board members and attendees offered congratulations and took photographs of the honorees.
CTAE director Mark Pierce read a proclamation declaring February 2026 as Career and Agricultural Education Month in Catoosa County and praised local CTAE and FFA programs for preparing students for careers and postsecondary opportunities. Pierce cited a state figure saying the graduation rate for CTAE completers in Georgia is "98.4," and urged community support for career‑education pathways and local sponsors. The board recognized FFA sponsors and students and designated National FFA Week for Heritage High School, Heritage Middle School, Ringgold High School and Lakeview‑Fort Oglethorpe High School.
The board encouraged the community to support CTAE instructors, work‑based learning coordinators and program sponsors; no formal vote was required for the recognitions and proclamations. Photographs and short remarks followed the presentations.
