PERRY — The Perry City Council approved awarding a public construction contract for a water‑line 'kill out' project to Lone Hickory Cattle Company, the lowest responsible bidder, in the amount of $675,510. The award is contingent on approval of the bid package by the Oklahoma Water Resources Board (OWRB).
City staff told the council there were four bids and Lone Hickory submitted the lowest responsible bid. The contract authorization includes a contingency: the mayor is to execute the construction contract only after the OWRB approves the bid and the city attorney verifies bonds, insurance and powers of attorney.
Council members said the company has worked in Perry on previous projects and staff described prior work as successful. Staff noted materials availability and scheduling could determine when the contractor starts work; the city anticipates the project will begin after materials and scheduling constraints are resolved, and after OWRB approval.
The motion to award the contract passed on roll call. The award is contingent on OWRB approval, as required for projects seeking that state board's funding or review.
