CARSON VALLEY, Nev. — Douglas County School District Superintendent Frankie Alvarado presented two Board‑directed consolidation scenarios at a town hall Tuesday night and asked the community for input before a special board meeting set for Feb. 3.
Alvarado said one option would consolidate two elementary campuses (presented as CC Manili/CCMAS and Scarceli Elementary School) into a single site, and the other would consolidate middle schools so that elementary schools would retain fifth grade while one middle school served seventh and eighth grades. Alvarado told the audience that the district is planning with current enrollment and an assumption of 100% cohort retention, that any implementation would require boundary changes the Board must approve, and that changes would not take effect until the 2026–27 school year if approved.
