Council approves removal of four parcels from Ferncliff Special Tax District

The Greenwood County Council voted to remove four parcels from the Ferncliff Special Tax District after a brief presentation by County Treasurer Miss Dorn.
Dorn told the council the special tax district had been created July 1 for requested services and that four parcels in the original district have asked to be removed for the upcoming tax year. She said two parcels are owned by the Ferncliff Homeowners Association and two are undevelopable (for reasons such as septic constraints). Dorn indicated the combined tax value for the four parcels totaled about $500.
No members of the public spoke in favor or opposition during the hearing. The council closed the public hearing and—by motion—approved removing the parcels; the chairman announced the vote was unanimous.
What happens next: the Treasurer's office will remove the parcels from the district roll for the upcoming tax year per the council action.
