Sarah, an election office staff member, told the board that staff are still working through a large backlog after the county’s mail delivery was delayed for two days. “So far we’ve processed about 3,766,” she said, adding the office receives batches on some days and continues to process both paper and online returns.
The update matters because permanent mailers often contain voter-information updates and can affect registration and ballot-delivery logistics. Board members asked clarifying questions about processing and staffing; staff said they will continue work until the mailings are fully processed.
The board did not take separate action on the update beyond hearing the report. The office did not provide an estimate for when processing will be complete.
