The board authorized staff to apply for an SS4a implementation grant of $10 million (80/20 match) and approved engaging consultant Acreman to help prepare the application; commissioners directed staff to budget the county share for 2027.
The Williams County Board of County Commissioners voted Feb. 3 to authorize application for an SS4a implementation grant and to engage outside assistance to prepare the application.
Brandon Barrell of the county engineering department told commissioners the SS4a implementation grant opportunity will open in the coming weeks and that the county plans to request $10,000,000 with an anticipated 80/20 federal/local split. Barrell said county finance staff will budget for the county’s portion in 2027 and asked for authorization for the chair to sign the resolution and permission to engage a consultant, Acreman, to help assemble required documentation.
A commissioner moved to approve authorization and consultant engagement; the board voted to carry the motion by roll call.
Barrell said staff will finalize grant documentation and proceed with the application process under the authorized resolution.
