At its Feb. 3 meeting the Galt City Council recorded unanimous votes on several items:
- Consent calendar (J1–J4): Received and filed warrants for period ending 01/20/2026; approved minutes from 01/20/2026; approved gym equipment purchases and appropriation; accepted a budget update on Costa Road UPRR crossing (CIP). Motion moved by Vice Mayor Reid and seconded by Council Member Sandhu; roll call 5–0.
- Ordinance No. 2026-01 (K): Second reading to adopt the 2025 California Fire Code with local amendments to Galt Municipal Code chapter 15.28. Motion moved and seconded; roll call 5–0.
- Temporary infill and multifamily fee reduction program: Council approved a 24‑month program to reduce traffic and recreation impact fees by 75% for qualifying projects and to eliminate the policy document maintenance fee; council amended the motion to apply the multifamily reduction only to rental projects. Motion by Council Member Farmer, seconded by Council Member Sandhu; roll call 5–0.
- County CoC governance recommendation: Council endorsed the county staff recommended option to reconstitute the Continuum of Care board with a majority of elected officials and asked county staff to pursue CoC consideration. Motion moved by Council Member Pratton and seconded by Council Member Farmer; roll call 5–0.
