The Philomath City Council adopted Ordinance 889, annexing the Cribbs property and changing its comprehensive plan and zoning designation from low‑density residential to high‑density residential, and advanced Ordinance 890 as a first reading during its Dec. 9 meeting.
Staff introduced Ordinance 889 as the implementing ordinance following the council’s earlier land‑use decision. After a brief opportunity for questions, the council conducted a roll‑call vote. Diane Crocker and other councilors recorded 'yes' votes and the ordinance was adopted by unanimous vote.
Ordinance 890, which amends municipal code chapter 18.15 and adds chapter 18.60 to create a new code area related to the recent land‑use action, was presented for first reading. Staff said the ordinance text matched the version the council saw at its prior meeting, and councilors recorded unanimous 'yes' votes for the first reading.
Staff said the ordinances will be forwarded to the Department of Revenue for recordation and implementation steps. Council members had no additional amendments or requested readings at the meeting.
The council continued with other agenda items, including an SDC resolution and staff presentations.
