Summary
Hamilton Township police publicly thanked district staff for helping with funeral logistics for Officer Megan Graham; the board also received a Warren County Career Center update, approved several contracts and donations, personnel items, and routine resolutions.
Hamilton Township officials thanked Little Miami leaders at the Jan. 28 board meeting for providing facilities and logistical support after the death of Officer Megan Graham.
Hamilton Township Police Chief Scott Hughes described Graham’s illness and the department’s efforts to grant her last wishes and coordinate funeral arrangements. “Most everyone in this room is familiar with the tragic death of 1 of our officers, Megan Graham,” Hughes said, and he singled out district staff who helped reserve the high school and assist the family.
Hamilton Township Administrator Jeff Wright and others praised Little Miami staff for responsive support, and the police delegation and board members exchanged thanks for the district’s partnership.
Separately, board member Ray Ward delivered a report on the Warren County Career Center, saying the center plans an expansion to accommodate high-demand programs such as heavy equipment (about 100 students signed up for a class that currently can take 30) and will select a design firm for the first phase. Ward said the center intends to use permanent improvement funds where possible and is reviewing departmental budgets following a $400,000 adult-education overrun.
On financial and operational business, the board approved several contracts listed by the treasurer, including special-education services with Emergis and the Warren County Educational Service Center, a depository agreement with Lebanon Citizens National Bank, policy-support services from Neola, and legal services from Reminger. The board accepted donations from the Little Miami athletic boosters totaling roughly $2,226, $2,100 and $2,011 for uniforms, and approved personnel items and resolutions included on the agenda.
What’s next: The career-center expansion will proceed through design selection and capital planning; contracts and donations approved at the meeting will be executed per district processes.
